Ashley Matthews and Vanessa Rising at Novozymes

A native of eastern North Carolina, Ashley Taylor Matthews graduated in Microbiology, December of 2002. She initially worked in the lab of Dr. James Ligon (Microbiology M.S. 1981) at Syngenta and currently is working in the enzyme discovery and optimization group at Novozymes in Franklinton, NC. 

Vanessa D. Rising graduated from NC State in 1993 with a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science. She will earn an M.S. in Microbiology this year. Vanessa is a research engineer at Novozymes.
