North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service

North Carolina Cooperative Extension helps fulfill the land-grant mission of North Carolina State University and North Carolina A & T State University by taking the last research-based knowledge to millions of citizens in our great state. Each day, North Carolina Cooperative Extension helps to strengthen our North Carolina families and communities. Our mission and our work are dedicated to helping these citizens improve the quality of their lives while assisting them improving their economic prosperity. We are also committed to helping North Carolinians steward their environment.

We rely on the knowledge that has been tested through research to develop educational programs based on the issues and the needs of our communities and citizens. North Carolina Cooperative Extension is focusing its efforts on five major initiatives.

One exciting way that you can join us is through our Achieve! Campaign. Through your participation, you can make a difference in an annual program or support a program in perpetuity through an endowment. Together, we can help that help our citizenry put that research-based knowledge to work.

Making Gifts to Support the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service

On-campus Programmatic Gifts
  • Departmental Support
Each department in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences has a Cooperative Extension unit that is charged with designing those programs that make a difference. Two of those departments, Family and Consumer Science and 4-H Youth Development, have the Extension mission as their primary purpose. Within all CALS departments, Subject-matter Specialists are challenged to work with County Extension professionals to help address those issues and needs identified by the local Advisory Board. We’re also expanding that research-based knowledge from other Colleges on campus through our Gateway Counties initiative in partnership with NC State Extension and Engagement.
