County Units of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service seek to solicit friends and funds from the private sector to provide fiscal resources for program support of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Sciences and 4-H Youth Development Programs. Further, these units will seek to establish support for privately funded positions to carry out the work of the local Cooperative Extension Service.
The North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc., a 501©3 nonprofit corporation, and its entities, the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service Foundation, the North Carolina 4-H Development Fund, North Carolina Landscapes of Opportunity Foundation, and the North Carolina Foundation for the Family (proposed).
This Strategic Plan values empowering individuals and families, businesses and corporations, and foundations to make informed decisions about charitable giving and support of the local units of the Cooperative Extension Service.
The County Development Strategic Plan seeks to enhance current and establish enhancement and/or endowment funds to provide support of Agricultural, Family and Consumer Services and 4-H Youth Development Programs in local County Extension Centers in the following ways:
To strengthen and enhance to scope and outreach of the programs of the county centers of the Cooperative Extension Service
To bring old and new friends of the local centers of the NCCES and of NC State together; helping them recognize their heritage and provide support for their future
To acknowledge the contributions and service of current and former local employees of NCCES and to inform the public of opportunities to honor these contributions
To increase community awareness, appreciation and support of the programs provided by county centers of the Cooperative Extension Service and to inform the public of the value added by these programs
To emphasize the sense of commitment, sacrifice, leadership, and professionalism displayed in employees of the county centers of the Cooperative Extension Service.
The Campaign Committee will be led by tri-chairs, with representatives from the components of the Cooperative Extension Service.
The State Campaign Committee will be supported by co-chairs of each District Campaign Committee to provide continuity to the campaign between the district and the state. These positions may be held by employees, retirees, or volunteers of the Cooperative Extension Service.
The Presidents of each of the Professional Associations acknowledged by the Cooperative Extension Service shall serve as ex officio members of the Campaign Committee.
District Campaign Committees will be established to provide leadership to the Campaign in each district and to help guide the Campaign for maximum efficiency in counties within the district. Each county will have an opportunity to nominate an employee, retiree, or volunteer to serve as their representative on the district committee.
