A conference aimed at helping people learn about funding sources for community youth programs will be held at the Jane S. McKimmon Center in Raleigh on Nov. 10.
The conference, "Because We Care...," is a collaborative effort of the N.C. Department of Administration's Youth Advocacy Office and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service's 4-H Youth Development department. It is open to anyone interested in securing resources for programs serving children and youth at the community level.
During concurrent workshop sessions, representatives from federal agencies will provide an overview of how and where to find federal funds; presenters from foundations, corporations and public-private partnerships will discuss their resources; and state agency representatives will provide an overview of the community resources information system. Also, a how-to workshop on grant writing will be conducted.
The conference will be held from 8:15 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
