TURF FIELD DAY SET FOR AUG. 19

The latest research-based information on maintaining high-quality turfgrass for golf courses and grounds will be explored at a North Carolina State University field day to be held Aug. 19 at the Sandhills Research Station near Jackson Springs. At the Golf and Grounds Field Day, university faculty members will be on hand to present information focused specifically on problems faced by turf managers during summer months. They will discuss such subjects as managing beetles, diseases and weeds. Pesticide recertification credits will be offered.

Sign-in will begin at 8:45 a.m., with presentations taking place between 9 and 11:30. The pre-registration fee for the event is $15 for members of the Turfgrass Council of North Carolina or the Triangle Turfgrass Association and $20 for non-members. To pre-register or for more information, call the Turfgrass Council of North Carolina toll-free at 1-888-695-1333.
