![]() The NeuseLetter, produced by North Carolina Cooperative Extension’s Neuse Education Team, has received the Blue Ribbon Award for educational aids from the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. The NeuseLetter is written and edited by Andy Fisher, an environmental issues writer in the College’s Communication Services Department, along with Mitch Woodward, coordinator of the Neuse Education Team. The NeuseLetter is designed to inform county officials, other state agencies and the Neuse River Basin business community about the water quality education efforts of North Carolina Cooperative Extension’s Neuse Education Team. According to Fisher, the newsletter serves as somewhat of a clearinghouse of information that does not bog readers down with “tech-speak.” “This team is working on many water quality demonstration projects that will have long-term value for improving the Neuse River,” says Fisher. “My goal as a communicator is to capture the essence of the team’s work and present it to our readers in a way that they can relate to. [The NeuseLetter] is also a great way to show people the scope and depth of Cooperative Extension in North Carolina’s environmental arena.” |
