Basnight honored
in belated ceremony

Sen. Marc Basnight, president pro tem of the North Carolina Senate, was named an honorary initiate of Gamma Sigma Delta, the honor society of agriculture, in April but was unable to attend GSD’s annual initiation banquet at that time. So, at belated initiation ceremonies in August, Basnight (center) was honored by (from left) GSD President Jim Young, head of the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Dr. Ken Esbenshade, associate dean and director of academic programsin the College; Dr. Marye Anne Fox, chancellor of N.C. State University; and Andy Willis, assistant to the chancellor for external affairs.
