Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology Web site
enables online giving

Supporting the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences is becoming as easy as a few keystrokes and mouse clicks.

The College’s first online giving Web page is now up and running. It’s available at www.waterquality.ncsu.edu, the Web site of the College’s Center for Applied Aquatic Ecology (CAAE).

Clicking on the Support Water Quality Research link at that site enables potential donors to contribute to CAAE online, via a page with clearly designated areas to submit personal contact information and contribution information, as well as links and phone numbers for further assistance.

Such a site not only means convenience for donors but also efficiency for those who will be at the receiving end of the electronically submitted forms.

“This application is very end-user friendly for my gift processing staff members,” said Gerard McNeill, director of alumni and donor records in N.C. State Advancement Services. “This transmittal form is not significantly different from what we currently receive from college development offices. What it does provide is a consistent format for us to review the donor’s intent and then process the charitable contribution.”

The university’s Administrative Computing Services’ Contract Services created the CAAE online giving page, as well as the back-end programs McNeill’s group uses, and provides programming support, he added.

“The CAAE site is a test site for secure donations to our College,” says Chris Cammarene-Wessel, campaign and departmental fund-raising director in the College’s Foundations and Development Office. “The JC Raulston Arboretum will follow soon, with the potential for each College department to link to an online giving site.”
