Jacqueline Roseboro, right, Columbus County Extension director, looks over an exhibit at the 35th anniversary celebration of Cooperative Extension's Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program, held at McKimmon Center Aug. 24. With her are Dr. Ngaire van Eck, center, retired EFNEP coordinator, and Coretta Roseboro, Jacqueline's daughter. The program brings nutrition education to limited-resource families and youths in 43 counties through trained personnel from those communities served. In 2003, EFNEP's adult program reached out to 5,991 families with young children through a series of lessons, often over several months, from paraprofessionals and volunteers. During the celebration, EFNEP recognized individuals for their service to the program and heard from several program employees, past and present, who described how the program had helped people improve their lives.
