Oakley receives prestigious national award from professional organization

Keith Oakley
Keith Oakley, executive director for College Advancement in N.C. State University's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS), is the 2006 winner of the NAADA Founders' Distinguished Service Award. He was honored in June during ceremonies at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
Named for those who founded the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association Inc. 30 years ago, the award is given in recognition of service to the professional organization.
Oakley has been an active NAADA member for more than 15 years, helping the organization evolve into a valuable association for those with careers in land-grant institutional advancement and for university volunteers. He has served on key NAADA committees and led the planning, hosting and execution of a highly successful NAADA Annual Conference at N.C. State University in 2001. His CALS Advancement Office also hosted the fall 2005 NAADA board meeting and strategic planning committee meeting.
Beyond his committee involvement, Oakley has advised NAADA presidents and board members on membership, marketing, investment and planning issues.
In nominating Oakley for the award, Dr. Johnny Wynne, CALS dean, said, "Keith exemplifies the service to NAADA that the founders and previous recipients have demonstrated since the association's beginnings. He is a strong advocate for the association and its mission, vision and purpose."
Oakley is a Durham native. He oversees the College's Foundations and Development Office, as well as its College Relations and alumni activities. He heads the efforts of the North Carolina Agricultural, Dairy and Tobacco foundations while providing direction to foundations supporting 4-H and the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service.
