College of Agriculture and Life Sciences student athletes are the focus of the “College Spotlight” feature in a recent edition of Student-Athletes: The Good Word. The April 2010  newsletter from the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes (ASPSA) at N.C. State included the following article:

“College Spotlight On.....COLLEGE OF AGRICULTURE AND LIFE SCIENCES

More than 30 Wolfpack student-athletes who are enrolled in CALS (College of Agriculture and Life Sciences) post a cumulative GPA of over 3.0 (see list below). One of those student-athletes is already looking forward to taking what she’s learned in her studies at N.C. State to the next level. Gabrielle Daniel, an Academic All-ACC performer, has been accepted to graduate school at Cornell this fall, where she plans to continue her education in nutrition science. Her ultimate goal is to attend medical school at Howard, however, and she has applied there as well. ‘I came to N.C. State because the academics were wonderful,’ says the Carrboro native. ‘It’s hard work balancing athletics and academics, but it’s worth it.’
