Visitation Day
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in February hosted an Honors Visitation Day for high school honors students. The program An Experience in Undergraduate Research and Teaching attracted more than 100 students and their parents from around the state, said Barbara Kirby, the Colleges assistant director of academic programs and director of the College honors program. Faculty-guided
groups visited either the Environmental
and Molecular Toxicology Department, the new Biotechnology facility,
the Genomics Research Laboratory,
the North
Carolina State University Phytotron, the College
Biological Resource Center, the College
of Veterinary Medicine or other campus areas. While students toured,
parents met with College officials until mid-afternoon. Art
