FCS internship gifts
honor Mock's retirement

When Dr. Judy Mock, professor in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), retired in December after a 30-year career with the N.C. Cooperative Extension Service (CES), she requested that retirement gifts in her honor should be in the form of donations to the Dr. Judieth E. Mock Internship. The internship was established in 2000 by the FCS faculty to honor Mock’s contributions to the department, dedication to the field and her belief in enhancing the potential of tomorrow’s Extension professionals. The internship is awarded annually to a deserving undergraduate student interested in pursuing a career in family and consumer sciences education with the Extension Service. Above, Mock is shown with Dr. Ray McKinnie (left) of N.C. A&T State University and CALS CES director Dr. Jon Ort at the 2003 State Extension Conference, where she received Outstanding Extension Service Awards for 2001 and 2002. (Contributions to the Dr. Judieth E. Mock Internship fund can be made to the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation Inc. For information, 919-515-7678.)
