CALS Ambassadors win national leadership award

In January, the CALS Ambassadors group (above) was singled out as excellent from among 350 student ambassadors at the national conference in Florida.
The CALS Ambassadors are known on campus and in local and statewide communities as leaders. Now, they've been recognized on the national level. The ambassador program recently won the Excellence in Leadership Award from the National Agriculture Ambassador Conference.
Nearly 350 student ambassadors from more than 30 colleges and universities across the country convened at the National Agriculture Ambassador Conference in January for a weekend filled with professional workshops, speakers and, for the first time this year, a competitive awards program. This year's conference took place at the University of Florida.
In addition to receiving their award, which included a $500 cash prize, the CALS Ambassadors delivered a conference workshop, "Student Leaders, Student Speakers, Wolfpack Pride," outlining key components of their leadership program.
The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' student ambassadors serve as liaisons between campus and community, bringing news of the College to alumni, prospective students and parents, elected officials and other stakeholders throughout North Carolina.
