Students interested in pursuing a career in vegetation management will be the beneficiaries of an endowment established in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. The North Carolina Vegetation Management Association (NCVMA) Scholarship Endowment was created in December in an agreement between the NCVMA Inc. and the North Carolina Agricultural Foundation Inc. The endowment, fully funded by the NCVMA, will be used to provide scholarships for undergraduate students enrolled in four-year curricula in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Natural Resources at N.C. State University. Those students must be enrolled in curricula related to vegetation management - such as crop science, soil science, horticulture, agricultural economics, forestry and environmental resources, agricultural and extension education, plant pathology, and biological and agricultural engineering. They also must be planning a career in the area of vegetation management.
