College family invited to set fund-raising
r. Johnny Wynne, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences interim dean, was host of a first-of-its-kind event, as the College’s administrative team, department heads, and numerous faculty and staff members gathered in April for the CALS Family Campaign launch at the University Club.
“We are here to bring all CALS on-campus faculty and staff together for a celebration of our successful fund raising during the quiet phase of our university’s comprehensive campaign,” Wynne said. “Thanks in part to this College’s outstanding fund raising, the university is now setting its sights on a $1 billion goal, something no other land-grant university has done.”
As for the College’s part in reaching that university goal, Wynne announced that CALS is the campus leader with its own goal of $275 million.
“The College has chosen the theme ‘Windows of Opportunity’ for our campaign,” Wynne said. “We like to think of all the areas that donors may choose to support us as opportunities, for us and for them.”
The purpose of the launch event was to invite all the CALS “family” — administration, faculty and staff members — on board to support the campaign. “I have made my Family Campaign gift, as have all the directors and department heads,” Wynne said. “I hope others in the College will join us.”
Wynne announced that departmental Family Campaign leaders would distribute packets with information on supporting the College in a variety of ways.
