Faculty, staff and students receive 2008 Resource Development Awards

The College of Agriculture and Life Sciences presented its 2008 Resource Development Awards April 9 during the annual joint luncheon of the N.C. Agricultural, Dairy and Tobacco Foundations at the N.C. State University Club. The awards recognize faculty, retired faculty and staff members, as well as student organizations for outstanding efforts in raising funds in support of College programs.
Dr. Gary Cartwright of the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences was honored with the Faculty Resource Development Award. Dr. Charles W. Stuber Sr., professor emeritus of genetics, and Frances Voliva, retired Tyrrell County Extension director, each received the Retired Faculty Resource Development Award. And Carolyn C. Bunn of CALS Contracts and Grants received the Staff Resource Development Award. The student organization award winner was the CALS Ambassadors group, represented by Emily Hon, CALS Ambassador, and adviser Tricia Buddin.
Dr. Johnny Wynne, dean of the College, presided as he and Ken Sigmon, associate vice chancellor for university development, presented plaques and monetary awards to the winners.
