CEFS to hold field day May 3 in Goldsboro
The Center for Environmental Farming Systems will hold a field day and open houses on May 3 at the center’s 2,000 acre Goldsboro farm. The events will showcase research and extension activities related to sustainable agriculture.
International Programs dean named
Dr. John Sabella, adjunct professor in the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, has been named Interim Assistant Dean for International Programs in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
CALS’ Fred Gould is 2012 O. Max Gardner Award winner
Gould brings to 27 the number of O. Max Gardner Award winners from N.C. State University since 1949, when the awards program began. It is the most significant honor given to faculty members by the UNC Board of Governors.

4-H to honor Larry Wooten, Francis Pressly and Dr. Mike Davis at Lifetime Achievement Awards event
The North Carolina 4-H Lifetime Achievement Awards celebration will be held Wednesday, April 11, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jane S. McKimmon Center for Extension and Continuing Education in Raleigh, N.C. The annual fundraising event will honor the lifetime achievements of former 4-H members, families and supporters. Media are invited to attend.
