‘Almanac Gardener’ resumes on WUNC-TV

“Almanac Gardener” resumes its run on WUNC-TV on June 18. Taking viewers through the finer points of garden planning, maintenance and blooming innovation, the show features Mike Gray and fellow experts from the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service at N.C. State University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Here is a list of episode features for June and July:

  • June 18: “3rd Graders in the Garden” and “Cynthia Satterfield’s Urban Garden in Franklin County”
  • June 25: “New High Bush Blueberry Varieties for North Carolina” and “Delicious Dishes with Fresh North Carolina Peaches”
  • July 2: “Identifying Wildflowers on Your Woodland Walk” and “New Ways to Prepare Fresh Tomatoes”
  • July 9: “Visits the Jenny Spillman Family Garden in Franklin County for a Look at their Second Season” and  “Tour of the Asheville Tailgate Market”
  • July 16:  “Ornamental Vines for Porches and Decks” and “Water Irrigation Independence/Going off the Grid”
  • July 23: “Saving Money on Perennials” and “Cool Ways to Enjoy North Carolina Watermelons”
  • July 30: “Local Produce Emporium on the Volmer Farm in Franklin County” and “Seed Saving for Next Season”
