Peanut field day set for Sept. 6

PeanutsPhoto U.S. Department of Agriculture Agricultural Research Service North Carolina ranks fifth among the states when it comes to peanut production.

N.C. State University’s 60th Peanut Field Day will take place Sept. 6 at the Peanut Belt Research Station in Lewiston-Woodville, N.C. The event highlights the latest research into peanut breeding and variety development, disease and insect management and agronomy.

Registration begins at 8:45, with the program starting at 9. The N.C. Peanut Growers Association will hold its annual membership meeting during the field day. Events conclude following a 1 p.m. lunch.

The field day is sponsored by N.C. State’s N.C. Agricultural Research Service and N.C. Cooperative Extension Service, along with the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the N.C. Peanut Growers Association.
