Hops events educate growers on new specialty crop

As North Carolina’s craft beer industry grows, so does interest in locally produced hops. Two upcoming events in Asheville and Raleigh will offer information on growing this new specialty crop in North Carolina. Dates and locations are:

Research Hop Yard Open House,
July 5, 5-7 p.m.

Mountain Horticultural Crops Research Station
74 Research Drive, Mills River (near Asheville)

Research Hop Yard Tour,
July 14, 9 a.m.-12 noon

Lake Wheeler Road Field Laboratory
Raleigh
