From pest management to landscape care, four new apps by scientists in the North Carolina State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences provide critical information on timely outdoor topics.

IPM Pro and IPM Lite: As part of a multi-university team led by the University of Tennessee Institute of Agriculture, NC State scientists helped develop IPM Pro, the first Integrated Pest Management mobile app for nursery growers, landscapers, arborists, Extension agents and students. The app includes the major horticultural practices and disease and insect recommendations. The IPM Lite app is designed for home gardeners and is packed with information on everything from pruning to pests. Both are available for download in Apple and Android Marketplaces.

Developed by the university’s Turfgrass Program, the app also includes a selection of “turf tips” and lawn-related news alerts. Available for iPhone, iPad and iPod.
