“In the Garden with Bryce Lane,” an award-winning TV show from N.C. State University, kicks off its 10th season Saturday, Sept. 22, at noon on UNC-TV.
“In the Garden” brings more of its Emmy® Award-winning wisdom from veteran horticultural science instructor Bryce Lane, who invites viewers to delve into the science behind plants and plant growth as he discusses an array of gardening subjects.
In the season opener, Lane looks at what’s new in the world of gardening. He visits a local nursery for an inside look at gardening trends for 2012. Then he talks with horticultural legend Dr. Allan Armitage at the Trial Gardens at the University of Georgia, where research is underway to help introduce new plants into the trade.
This season, viewers will also get an update on the renovations at the JC Raulston Arboretum as well as practical tips on using fabulous foliage to create a beautiful landscape, layering in the landscape, and must-do gardening tasks for fall.
Lane travels to Georgia to visit the Atlanta Botanical Garden and then to Ball Ground, Ga., to tour one of Georgia’s hidden treasures, Gibbs Gardens.
