CALS students are winners at HOSA national conference

Erin Beasley and Crystal Cain were among medalists at the HOSA: Future Health Professionals National Leadership Conference in Orlando, Fla. Beasley won first place and Cain took second in the Veterinary Science competition at the week-long conference.

CALS graduate students earn top honors at national scientific meeting

Animal science doctoral student Yihang Li was honored as a finalist in the graduate student paper competition at the ASN event in San Diego.

The students were among winners at the 2014 Experimental Biology meetings, in conjunction with the American Society for Nutrition’s 78th Scientific Sessions and Annual Meeting.

Award nominations are being accepted through March 7 for the Norman E. Borlaug Excellence in Service to Society and the Environment Award. This award, sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Natural Resources, is open to all tenure-track faculty of N.C. State University and is presented annually.

Dr. David L. Lindbo, professor and Extension specialist in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Department of Soil Science, was named 2013 Envirothon Mentor of the Year by the Wake Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.
