Award nominations are being accepted through March 7 for the Norman E. Borlaug Excellence in Service to Society and the Environment Award. This award, sponsored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the College of Natural Resources, is open to all tenure-track faculty of N.C. State University and is presented annually.

Dr. David L. Lindbo, professor and Extension specialist in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Department of Soil Science, was named 2013 Envirothon Mentor of the Year by the Wake Soil and Water Conservation District Board of Supervisors.

In celebration of his scholarship and dedication to teaching, Dr. David Jones of North Carolina State University, Department of Agricultural and Extension Education, was named the 2013 recipient of the Excellence in College and University Teaching Award in the Food and Agricultural Sciences New Teacher Division.

“Preparing the Way,” a campaign initiative for the foundation boards of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to join N.C. State University’s Pullen Society, was launched Nov. 7. The foundations also presented the annual Distinguished Service Award to Jimmy Gentry, president of the State Grange.

Hightower receives NCSU Libraries Faculty Award

Alumnus Kendall Hill wins national volunteer award
