Prestage family teams with NC State for holiday turkey challenge

As part of a fundraising campaign through the North Carolina State University Annual Giving Program, the Prestage family – who recently made a $10 million gift to endow the Department of Poultry Science – donated 200 turkeys to the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.

The Wayne and Judy Skaggs Endowment for Water Resources and the Hydrology of Poorly Drained Lands was created Nov. 9 as part of festivities in commemoration of Skaggs’ career.

Distinguished service honored at foundations’ fall joint meeting

David Thompson of the N.C. Association of County Commissioners received the Distinguished Service Award during the Nov. 13 meeting of the North Carolina Agriculture, Dairy and Tobacco foundations. The event included a special presentation to Sharon Rowland, executive director of the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Service Foundation.

$10 million gift names Poultry Science Department for Prestage family

North Carolina State University’s Poultry Science Department has been renamed for the Prestage Family. Chancellor Randy Woodson announced a 10 million gift that will name and endow the department in N.C. State’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
