New scholarship endowment honors 4-H’s Thearon and Vanette McKinney

The contributions to 4-H of Vanette and Thearon McKinney were celebrated Sept. 7 at the JC Raulston Arboretum.

The endowment will provide opportunities for N.C. 4-H members to attend the American Youth Foundation Leadership Conference.

After 30 years of service to the N.C. 4-H Horse Program, Dr. Bob Mowrey retired in January and established an endowment that will continue to provide support for the program and young people he nurtured for many years.
