Client Comments: (a sampling of the hundreds of letters received over the years)

You should realize by now that you were one of the stars of the 1978 National AAACE meeting. You did as much as anyone there to make the host states look good, and you opened a lot of eyes on our staff. Many people now recognize for the first time what a talented person you are. The visual newsletter was one of the most innovative and creative features of the conference. - Tom Byrd, Agricultural Information, 1978

On Thursday evening, July 26, I witnessed the audiovisual review of the day's activities during 4-H State Club Congress, and I was very impressed with the impact of the presentation and the amount and quality of work which you had devoted to the activity. In my judgment, this has been the most innovative addition to State 4-H Club Week that I have witnessed in 30 years. The multi-media equipment and your position have added immeasurably to the effectiveness of our Extension programs. - D.G. Harwood, Jr., Assistant Director, Agriculture & Special Programs, 1979

Just a note to let you know how pleased we are with your work with the Visual Newsletter at State 4-H Club Congress. Obviously, the Visual Newsletter was the hit of the week. While the entertainment and informational value of this media at Congress has been recognized, we would like to mention the value that the young people who worked on the Visual Newsletter staff received from associations with you and the Visual Newsletter process. We are sure that the young people who worked with you during the week received much knowledge, experience and inspiration. - Dalton Proctor, Associate State 4-H Leader; Mike Davis, 4-H Staff Associate, 1979

"Yam Alert" is accomplishing its goal of getting the attention of all of our North Carolina sweet potato growers. … This campaign is reaching our sweet potato farmers through the excellent multimedia approaches of your Agricultural Information Department. …You have been just super and I sincerely appreciate all of your hard work. Your enthusiastic approach to your work is contagious. - George Wilson, Extension Horticulturist, 1980

With your help we were able to have one of the most effective programs ever produced in the Northwestern Extension Homemakers Associations meeting. Your knowledge and expertise, and your willingness to work with agents is an unsurpassed combination. Your leadership in visual image productions has improved the quality of many programs in North Carolina. - Carolyn Register, District Program Leader, 1981

Thank you so much for once again bringing your superb slide presentation to Winston-Salem for our community to see. I know that it takes a great deal of work and trouble on your part to move the equipment around, set it up and break it down. Believe me, it is worth it! The presentation is excellent and many people here who saw it Monday evening have complimented not only on the report itself, but your presentation of it. - Wayne Corpening, Mayor of Winston-Salem, 1983

The 1987 NCSU Emerging Issues Forum was an overwhelming success. Many people deserve credit for the success of our conference, but I want to thank you, in particular, for providing us with high-quality sound, both as the conference progressed and on the tapes that were produced. As you know, I wanted assurance ahead of time that a skilled person would stand ready to intervene should problems arise on the day of the forum. Betty Owen told me without hesitation, after meeting with you, that she had the right person for the job! - James B. Hunt, 1987

As always, it was great working with you again - you're a real pro! I had a lot of positive feedback from several of the lay leaders and stat directors at the showing last week on the new national initiatives slide-tape presentation, and anticipate the same after we've distributed the slide set and videotape to all the states. This project would never have been completed without your professional expertise and that of all the others on your communications team at NC State. - Patricia Calvert, Deputy Director for Extension Information and Communications, 1987

The production (4-H Performing Arts Troupe) was most enjoyable. The slides, the skits, the music, the talent of the young people - all - meshed well and came off beautifully. The young people were most impressive and talented. You deserve a great amount of praise for putting this production together. Mark Dearmon is truly a talented and creative person. - Ron Butler, Student Affairs, 1988
