I only need one paper from a Recent Advances in Tobacco Science volume. Where can I obtain a copy without purchasing the entire volume?

  • Copies of individual papers from Recent Advances volumes are available from the Tobacco Literature Service for $20.00 each, including postage, prepaid. Invoices are sent upon request.
  • Copies of individual papers and/or loan of the entire volume are available, usually at no charge, through Interlibrary Loan from university and public libraries which have purchased the volumes; and those who do not wish to purchase papers are encouraged to explore that option.

How can I obtain a copy of a paper from Recent Advances in Tobacco Science whose abstract appears in the conference Program Booklet, but which isn’t in Recent Advances in Tobacco Science?
Copies of papers listed in the Conference Program Booklets as having been presented at the Conferences, other than those given in the symposium, which results in Recent Advances, are not available from the Tobacco Literature Service. They may be available directly from the author(s), whose addresses appear in Recent Advances and in the Program Booklets. Contact the author(s) directly.

Who owns the copyright to Recent Advances in Tobacco Science and the Tobacco Science Research Conference program booklet?
The author(s) and/or their companies hold the rights. Consequently, the Tobacco Literature Service cannot provide permission to reproduce materials from these materials. Author addresses appear in the Program Booklet and in Recent Advances. Contact the author(s) directly.

Why don’t you accept checks drawn on overseas banks?
This requirement is a North Carolina State University regulation. Consequently, no exceptions to this policy can be made.

I am interested in your software. Where can I obtain further information?
The Tobacco Abstracts database is constructed using InMagic’s DB/TextWorks and mounted on the Web using InMagic’s WebPublisher PRO. For additional information on these products, see:

How can I obtain a copy of a paper cited in Tobacco Abstracts?

  • Occasionally, Tobacco Literature Service may be able to provide copies of some documents cited in Tobacco Abstracts. Inquire for availability and price. However, the Tobacco Literature Service is not a commercial document delivery service.
  • Whenever a URL is available, the Tobacco Abstracts record will provide a link to one or more Web sites where a copy of the document may be purchased from the publisher or another vendor.
  • Photocopies may also be made in local public or university libraries, if they own the publication.

DOES PUBLICATION OF AN ABSTRACT IN THE CONFERENCE BOOKLET PROVE THAT A PAPER WAS PRESENTED?
No. Purchasers are advised that cancellation or addition of some papers may not be reflected in the printed Program Booklet, as these events occurred after printing. A listing for a given paper in the Program Booklet indicates that the paper had been submitted, reviewed, and accepted for
publication at the time of printing, but cannot be interpreted as a guarantee that the paper was in fact presented.
