Owners, managers and technicians of pest control companies that service or intend to service North Carolina schools are encouraged to attend. Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, is a proactive and common-sense approach to pest control that dramatically reduces the risk of exposure to pesticides for students, teachers and staff in public schools. Last June, the state legislature passed the School Children's Health Act that requires school districts to implement IPM programs. At the half-day workshops, participants will:
Training sessions will be conducted at county centers of North Carolina Cooperative Extension and will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The following are dates and locations for each session:
