Horse Program Leader Conference is Jan. 27-28 in Greensboro

People interested in working with young people and horses may be interested in the Carolina/Virginia Horse Volunteer Leader Training Conference Jan. 27-28 in Greensboro.

The early registration deadline for the conference is Dec. 27. The conference is sponsored by 4-H horse programs at North Carolina State University and Virginia Tech University. It will be held at the North Carolina Cooperative Extension Center in Guilford County, 3309 Burlington Road, Greensboro.

The conference registration fee is $25 prior to Dec. 27, after which it rises to $30.

The event is designed to provide information on topics related to working with horses and young people. It is open to adults and teenagers leading 4-H and horse breed association youth programs as well as cooperative extension agents and FFA instructors interested in learning about programs that involve young people and horse-related subjects and activities.

The conference features educators and veteran volunteer horse club leaders from N.C. State University and Virginia Tech speaking on youth-equine-related topics.
