Introduction: Some years back Oldsmobile launched and advertising campaign with the theme "Its not your father's Oldsmobile anymore." The advertising campaign was designed to communicate the idea that Oldsmobiles had changed and they were more modern. Perhaps a similar campaign needs to be mounted today. It is no longer Vocational Agriculture. Today it is Agricultural Education. More than just the name has changed. In this class we will learn more about the modern day agricultural education program.

Lesson Objectives:
At the completion of the lesson you should be able to:
Describe modern day agricultural education.
Identify the state leadership structure for agricultural education
Discuss the impact of the Vocational Education Act of 1963 and the Perkins Acts on Agricultural Education.
Describe the recommendations for agricultural education found in "Understanding Agriculture: New Directions for Education".
