1. The starting place will be the Ashe County High School in West Jefferson, North Carolina. Please plan to arrive at 8:00 AM. Directions to the school from a variety of places can be found at http://www.ashe.k12.nc.us/achs/sports/directions/directions.htm

2. Dress for the trip is business casual. Wear what you would normally work in at your extension office or school. I will be wearing slacks and a polo-type shirt. There is nothing wrong with wearing shorts if they are dress shorts and look neat and professional. You don't want to look like you are heading to the beach for the day or going out to work livestock. Our visit may be the only perception some people get of North Carolina State University. 

3. Several places where we stay have pools. So bring your trunks/suit if you want to swim.

4. If you want to bring a six pack of your favorite SOFT drink in a personal cooler, that would be fine. We can make stops for ice and snacks along the way.

5. Best advice - wear comfortable walking shoes.
