Introduction:

Program Planning in Agricultural and Extension Education teaches students the philosophy, theory, and process of planning and implementing community-based educational programs.

 

 

Lesson Objectives:

At the completion of the lesson you should be able to: Explain the history of the Cooperative Extension Service. Discuss the Philosophy of Cooperative Extension Service. Compare the Cooperative Extension Service non-formal education programs to formal systems of learning.

 

 

Learning Activities:

Read Chapter 1 of the text, (Boone, Safrit, and Jones). Download or view the PowerPoint presentation on extension models. You may also view or download the modified version of the PowerPoint by Dr. Guion.

 

 
 

Assignments:

Go to WebCT Vista and log in using your unity id and password.  Complete Worksheet 1 and submit it via Vista.  If you are in the distance ed portion of the course, you should see AEE 521 601 Fall 2007 in your course list.  You will also find a discussion for this week.  This week's topic is "Introductions."
