Class 10: Program Implementation Strategies

  

Lesson Objectives:

Explain Boone's 5 processual tasks involved in implementing the planned program. Provide examples of the three different types of educational methods used in Extension. Discuss key considerations for program implementation. Describe the characteristics/traits of visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. Describe the effective teaching strategies to use with visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners.

Required Activities: Read chapter 5 in Boone, Safrit and Jones. Download or View the PowerPoint developed by Dr. Debbie Boone. Download or View the PowerPoint Suggested Activities: Read "Program Delivery Methods" and "Targeting Audiences in Developing Program Delivery Strategies" by Dr. John Richardson.

 

 
 

Assignments:

Take the Learning Styles Tests 1  provided by Abiator's Learning Styles Inventory.  Click the web address to enter the site then look to the far left of the page. There will be a box in which you must scroll down to Abiator's Learning Styles Assessments then click on Learning Styles Test 1. Take Test 1 which has only 30 questions. Then click on the icon "Tell Me MY Learning Style. Complete and Submit Worksheet 8 via Vista If you are taking the course entirely through distance education, introduce yourself on the discussion board.  To get to the discussion board, go to WebCT Vista and log in using your unity id and password.  If you are in the distance ed portion of the course, you should see AEE 521 601 Fall 2006 in your course list.  Click on it.  After you click on the course, you will see the discussion board topics.  This week's topic is "Learning Styles."
