Learning Activities:

These actvities should be completed before class for on-campus students as this provides a foundation for the class discussion.

For distance education students, these activities constitute the lesson. Pay special attention to the PowerPoint Presentation.

Take the Proficiency Award pretest to see how much you know about the FFA Proficiency Awards program.

Go to the National FFA Proficiency Award web site to learn more about Proficiency Awards. The proficiency award application (which you will need for this lesson's assignment) can be downloaded at this site.

What types of SAE programs are associated with each SAE area? All of these have been approved by the national FFA but since some awards do not currently have a sponsor, they are not awarded. The actual awards available each year vary depending upon sponsorship.

Visit the Proficiency Award timeline to get a feel for what should be done each year during a student's agricultural career.

View the PowerPoint presentation on proficiency awards or download it. If you don't like our presentation, there is one on the FFA web site

Laboratory:

For students who are taking the class live on campus, there is a one and half hour lab. This activity will be done during the lab.

For distance education students, the lab will be described and the student will be responsible for performing the activity.
Introduction: Students will present Analytical SAE presentations.
