Once upon a time most girls (at least I think) had diaries. Here they would wrote down their private thoughts. Well, times have changed and many people are now writing down their thoughts but they are available for the entire world to see as Internet Blogs. We can use this new communication method in extension and education. In this module you will learn about blogs and a cousin of the blog--the wiki. Be thinking of how you can use these in your teaching and extension work.

She is excited about this summer because she finally decided to get a cot and an air mattress. She plans to take a first aid course as soon as the semester is over. When you read her blog, you will know why.

bullet Read about blogs from the online Encyclopedia -  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog

bullet Exactly what is the difference between a Wiki and a Blog?  Just want to make sure you know the difference.

bullet Go the Alleghany County CES site and find the 4-H Blog.

bullet If you work with the Cooperative Extension Service go to http://collaborate.extension.org/wiki/Main_Page and do a little exploring. Be and sure to visit the http://collaborate.extension.org/wiki/Working_in_MediaWiki_-_an_Article_Start_to_Finish link.
