  • Can’t judge a book by its’ cover? It happens everyday. We all judge people and institutions based on image. This lesson addresses personal and program images and the effect both have on marketing. Additionally, media representative help relay our image to the public at large. Read chapter 15 in the text for hints in working the media. They can help put your best “Face” forward!
  • You make the difference! Find out how in this Journal of Extension article.
  • Perception is reality. How does the public perceive the Extension service?
  • Enhance your image after reading the following Journal of Extension article.
  • Do you ever get confused when considering what entity delivers Extension programming? Is it the Wake County Extension Office? Where does NC State and NC A & T fit? Do employees work for the county or the university? Read Image: Creating a unique and Unified One for Extension.
  • Examine the public’s perception of Extension.
  • Arizona also investigated the public perception of Land Grand Universities. Review the results.
  • Character remains an important part of image. Visit a character education clearinghouse. Find the 4-H program offered!
  • Many agricultural and Extension education programs address animal agriculture. What is the public perception of animal agriculture?

Send an email to the class. Without mentioning names, describe a memorable first impression you had of either a person or program affiliated with agricultural or Extension education.

In the same email, describe a positive image of an agent or teacher.

Lastly, give ideas for providing a more unified image for Extension in the email.
