This course is designed to provide the foundation upon which the prospective teacher of career and technical education courses will build as he/she begins preparation for a career in career and technical education, Emphasis will be placed upon developing an understanding of (a) the: philosophy, objectives, and scope of career and technical programs in public schools; (b) the roles, expectations, and competencies of career and technical teachers; (c) trends and issues in career and technical education; (d) characteristics of effective teachers; (e) multiculturalism and providing for individual differences of students.
