What will you be paid as a teacher? Look at the salary schedules at the DPI web site.
Remember: This is the state minimum. Many school districts pay more. And most agriculture teachers are on 12 month contract so you will need to multiply the monthy salary listed by 12 instead of 10.

In addition to looking at salary, one should also consider benefits associated with the job.
North Carolina has a good benefits package.

Will there be a job available after you graduate? If you are mobile, you should not have a problem finding a teaching position. The AEE department maintains a listing of people looking for positions and open teaching positions. When your time comes, you will be listed here.

If you want to get the real scoop on teacher supply and demand in agriculture you could look at the research conducted at Virginia Tech. They conduct a study periodically to document the supply and demand situation.
For the record, there is a teacher shortage in agriculture.
