AEE 500 Agricultural Education, Schools and Society. Role and structure of modern agricultural education within the overall educational system; school organization and governance, curriculum, teacher roles and responsibilities, educational philosophy and history, multiculturalism special need students, impact of technology, professionalism, and current educational trends and issues. Taught online every year in the Summer and Fall by Dr. Rayfield or Dr. Moore.

AEE 501 Foundations of Agricultural and Extension Education. Development and organization of agricultural and extension education in America from colonial times to the present. Emphasis on role of societal and scientific changes, the federal government and philosophy on evolution of agricultural and extension education. Taught live and online every year in the Fall by Dr. Moore.

AEE 503 Youth Program Management. Research, theory and principles of youth organization management. Analysis of youth development models and application of leadership theory in a youth organization. Using evaluation models to assess the effectiveness of major youth organization. Web-based course. Taught live and online every year in the Spring by Dr. Rayfield.

AEE 505 Trends and Issues in Agricultural and Extension Education. Scientific, political, demographic, social, educational, technological, and environmental trends and issues that will contribute to the future structure and operation of agricultural and extension education in the United States. Taught live spring of odd years and online every spring by Dr. Croom or Dr. Wilson.

AEE 507 Comparative Agricultural and Extension Education. Organization and operation of formal and nonformal agricultural education and extension systems in the United States and in other countries. Week long field trip required - cost approx. $175.00. Taught summer semester of odd years by Dr. Croom or Dr. Moore

AEE 521 Program Planning in Agricultural and Extension Education. Consideration of the need for planning programs in education; objectives and evaluation of community programs; use of advisory group; organization and use of facilities.Taught live fall of even years and online every fall by Dr. Guion.

AEE 522 Occupational Experience in Agriculture. A major and critical element in all programs of vocational education is provision for appropriate student learning experiences in a real and simulated employment environment. Due to recent developments in education and agriculture, new and expanded concepts of occupational experience devised. Current research substantiates need and desire of teachers of agriculture for assistance in implementing new concepts. Also designed to develop depth of understanding of theoretical foundations underlying new developments in occupational experiences to stimulate individual growth and creativity in implementing further developments. Taught live and online every fall. Dr. Rayfield.

AEE 523 Adult Education in Agriculture. Designed to meet needs of leaders in adult education. Opportunity to study some of basic problems and values in working with adult groups. Attention given to problem of fitting educational program for adults into public school program and other educational programs as well as to methods of teaching adults. Taught live and online spring of odd years by Dr. Kistler.

AEE 524 (595E) Program Management in Agricultural Education. Principles of program planning applied to educational programs in agriculture; theory and field experiences in planning, organizing, and evaluating secondary agricultural education programs; development of plans for conducting all aspects of the complete agricultural education program. AEE 526 Information Technologies in Agricultural and Extension Education. Principles, theory and techniques of using information technologies to provide instruction to learners, both in person and at a distance, in formal and non formal educational settings. Taught live and online every spring by Dr. Moore.

AEE 528 Instructional Design in Agricultural and Extension Education. Planning, developing, implementing, evaluating and managing the instructional process; theories, models, development and research in instructional design' conducting tasks analysis and needs assessments; distance learning considerations. Web-based course. Taught online in summer of odd years.

AEE 529 Curriculum Development in Agricultural and Extension Education. Design and development of data based curriculum and curriculum evaluation procedures in agricultural and extension education. Critique of curriculum development models, contemporary trends and issues, curriculum resources and accountability tools.Analysis of the use of national and state standards as well as local community needs in curriculum development. Taught online and live in fall of odd years by Dr. Wilson.

AEE (ED) 530 Priority Management in Agricultural and Extension Education. Examination of theoretical, psychological and empirical bases for strategies and techniques contributing to enhancement of managerial and personal effectiveness of agricultural educators and individuals in related agricultural organizations.Taught live and online during the spring of even years and summer of odd years by Dr. Croom or Dr. Moore.

AEE 531 Volunteer Management. Examination of the theory and research of volunterism. Principles and practices for recruiting and managing volunteers in non-profit organizations. Taught live and online in spring of even years by Dr. Kistler. NEW COURSE UNDER DEVELOPMENT.

AEE 534 Mentoring in Agricultural and Extension Education. Organization, administration, evaluation and possible improvement of supervisory practice; theory, principles and techniques of effective supervision in agricultural education at different levels. Taught live in fall of even years by Dr. Wilson.

AEE (ED) 535 Teaching Agriculture in Secondary Schools. Application of theoretical models and research on effective teaching in secondary agricultural education programs. teaching strategies, planning required, and instructional management for students with varying backgrounds. Evaluation of student learning and teacher evaluation of instruction. Taught online every fall by Dr. Flowers or Dr. Croom.

AEE 560 Organizational and Administrative Leadership in Agricultural and Extension Education. Organizational and administrative leadership concepts, skills and values in relation to agencies, organizations and institutions engaged in the administration of agricultural and extension education programs. Taught live and online every fall by Dr. Jones.

AEE 575 (595V) Program Marketing in Agricultural and Extension Education. The examination and application of marketing, public relations, and branding research in the field of agricultural and extension education. Efforts in the recruitment and retention of students/clients are investigated along with techniques appropriate for marketing agricultural and extension education programs. The course capstone includes the development of communication campaigns and comprehensive marketing plans that allow learners to put course theory to practice. AEE 577 Evaluation in Agricultural and Extension Education. Evaluation principles, models, and procedures used in developing and analyzing, agricultural, vocational, technical, and extension education programs; role of comprehenseive evaluation in needs assessments, program planning, program implementation, and the marketing of outcomes to major stake-holders; designs for evaluating agricultural and extension programs. Evaluation logic model is presented to identify and describe program inputs, activities, outputs, and outcomes. Taught live in spring of even years and taught online every spring by Dr. Jayaratne.

AEE 578 Scientific Inquiry in Agricultural and Extension Education. Philosophy, design, interpretation and practice of scientific research in agricultural and extension education, with a particular focus on the skills necessary to be an effective and critical "consumer" of research that is practiced within the field. AEE 579 Research Design in Agricultural and Extension Education. Design of Research in Agricultural and Extension education. Development of proposals for thesis research or competitive grants. AEE 701 Policy Development in Agricultural and Extension Education. Examination and analysis of federal legislation that has impacted agricutural and extension education. Methods and techniques of developing and influencing public policies and programs with an emphasis on agricultural, human resource and educational policy. AEE 735 Effective Teaching in Agriculture and Life Sciences. Theory and practice of effective teaching in agricultural and life sciences. Emphasis on course planning, teaching and learning styles, instructional techniques, laboratory instruction, text construction, student evaluation, instructional technology, and faculty roles and responsibilities. AEE 740 Extension in Developing Countries. Rural extension (agriculture, forestry, development, etc.). Strategies for enablement of farm/rural people to better usage of science, technology and other types of knowledge in fulfilling their own aspirations within their cultural context.
