AEE 500 Agricultural Education, Schools and Society (3) – Role and structure of modern agricultural education within the overall educational system; school organization and governance, curriculum, teacher roles and responsibilities, educational philosophy and history, multiculturalism, special need students, impact of technology, professionalism, and current educational trends and issues. Instructor: Dr. Gary Moore. This course is a stand alone course on the World Wide Web and is required in the LEAP program.

AEE 501 Foundations of Agricultural and Extension Education (3) – Development and organization of agricultural and extension education in America from colonial times to the present. Emphasis on role of societal and scientific changes, the federal government and philosophy on evolution of agricultural and extension education. Instructor: Dr. Gary Moore.  The course is a stand alone course on the World Wide Web and is also taught live on campus - Thursday, 6:00-8:45 PM.  It is required in all AEE graduate programs.



AEE 521 Program Planning in Agricultural and Extension Education (3) - Consideration of the need for planning programs in education; objectives and evaluation of community programs; use of advisory group; organization and use of facilities. Instructor Dr. Deborah Boone. This course is a stand alone web course. THIS COURSE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO STATE BUDGET CUTS.  SORRY.
AEE 522 Occupational Experience in Agriculture (3) - Focuses on implementation of Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs in high school agricultural education programs  - 4:30-5:45 PM Monday and Wednesday - 2 Ricks Hall - Dr. Barry Croom.  This course is also available as a stand alone course on the World Wide Web and is required in the LEAP program.


AEE 529 Curriculum Development in Agricultural and Extension Education (3) Design and development of data based curriculum and curriculum evaluation procedures in agricultural and extension education.  Critique of curriculum development models, contemporary trends and issues, curriculum resources and accountability tools.Analysis of the use of national and state standards as well as local community needs in curriculum development. Instructor: Dr. Beth Wilson. This course is a stand alone web course.

 
AEE (ED) 535 Teaching Agriculture in Secondary Schools (3) Application of theoretical models and research on effective teaching in secondary agricultural education programs. teaching strategies, planning required, and instructional management for students with varying backgrounds. Evaluation of student learning and teacher evaluation of instruction. Dr. Barry Croom.  This course is  a stand alone web course.

AEE 560 Organizational and Administrative Leadership in Agricultural and Extension Education (3) Organizational and administrative leadership concepts, skills and values in relation to agencies, organizations and institutions engaged in the administration of agricultural and extension education programs. The course is taught live on campus from 6:00-8:45 on Tuesday by Dr. David Jones.  This course is also taught on the World Wide Web by Dr. Jackie Bruce.


AEE 578 Scientific Inquiry in Agricultural and Extension Education (3) Philosophy, design, interpretation and practice of scientific research in agricultural and extension education, with a particular focus on the skills necessary to be an effective and critical "consumer" of research that is practiced within the field.  Dr. John Rayfield. Class meets on Monday 6:00-8:45 PM This class is also available on the World Wide Web. 


AEE 595 Volunteer Management. A special topics course that focuses on identifying, recruiting and managing volunteers to deliver educational programs. Dr. Jackie Bruce is the instructor and the class is available on the World Wide Web.


AEE 595 Data Analysis and Reporting in Agricultural and Extension Education. This course focuses on selecting the appropriate statistical tests for analyzing data, using SPSS to analyze data, interpreting SPSS printouts, and then preparing manuscripts to report the data.  At the completion of the course the student will be able to analyze and report data for their theses, dissertation, scientific reports and in professional journals. Drs. Jay Jayratne and Gary Moore are the instructors. The class meets from 6:00-8:45 PM on Wednesday. THIS COURSE HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO LOW ENROLLMENT.  SORRY.
