Ten Week Web Courses

Student AEE 500 Agricultural Education, Schools and Society (3 semester hours) – Role and structure of modern agricultural education within the overall educational system; school organization and governance, curriculum, teacher roles and responsibilities, educational philosophy and history, multiculturalism, special need students, impact of technology, professionalism, and current educational trends and issues. Instructor: Dr. Gary Moore.  10 week summer course. This course is a stand alone course on the World Wide Web and is required in the LEAP program. The course starts May 19 and ends August 6.

AEE 530 Priority Management in Agricultural and Extension Education (3 semester hours) (course web site is not currently on line. The course is being updated) Examination of theoretical, psychological and empirical bases for strategies and techniques contributing to enhancement of managerial and personal effectiveness of agricultural educators and individuals in related agricultural organizations. Dr. Barry Croom.  10 week summer course. This course is a stand alone course on the World Wide Web and is required in the LEAP program. The course starts May 19 and ends August 6.

AEE 595C Public Policy Advocacy (1 semester hour). This is a one week, one credit course. It will meet from 9 AM to noon on July  7, 8 and 11. There will be a two day field trip to Washington, DC on July 9 & 10.  Transportation will be provided for the field trip but the students will be responsible for meals and room. In this course you will learn how to effectively influence the development and implementation of public policy (legislation) at the local, state and federal levels. There will be a variety of speakers including a state senator, lobbyists for farm organizations, and congressional staffers.  Dr. Gary Moore will be the instructor.

AEE 595D Grantsmanship (1 semester hour). This is a one week, one credit course. It will meet from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM on July 28-Aug. 1. This is an intensive hands-on course in how to find grant money and write grants to foundations and governmental agencies. There will be a variety of speakers including representatives from private foundations and government agencies. Dr. Gary Moore is the instructor.

AEE 595B Effective Presentation Skills (1 semester hourt). This is a one credit seminar course. It will meet from 9:00 AM to Noon on July 28-Aug. 1. You will learn how to elevate your presentation skills to the next level. Dr. David Jones is the instructor.



Blended Course

AEE 595V Program Marketing in Agricultural and Extension Education (3 credit hours). Learners in AEE 595V examine marketing, public relations, and branding research. Efforts in the recruitment and retention of students/clients are investigated along with techniques appropriate for marketing Agricultural and Extension Education programs. The course capstone includes the development of communication campaigns and comprehensive marketing plans that allow learners to put course theory to practice. Dr. MeeCee Baker is the instructor. Class will meet live on June 9 & 10 and again on August 4 & 5. In between there were be a series of web based lessons.
