It has also been divided into two parts if you need to load each part on a floppy disk, ffaward1.PPT and ffaward2.PPT] 3. VCR 4. Video Tape of National FFA Convention Highlights (available from the National FFA Center) 5. FFA Proficiency Award Medals (available from the National FFA Center) 6. FFA Degree Pins (available from the National FFA Center) 7. Copies of the FFA Proficiency Award Application packet for each student (original available from the National FFA Center) 8. "FFA Proficiency Award and Degrees" crossword puzzle and clues activity sheet (one set for each student) A. Interest Approach: 1. How many degrees are there in the FFA that can be earned. 2. How many different FFA proficiency awards are there? Alternative approach: If you don't have the award medals or degree pins, use coins instead. Emphasize that a number of the awards carry a monetary prize at the state and national level. "How does one go about earning the FFA degrees and awards?"
1. Go through the PowerPoint presentation titled "FFA Degrees and Proficiency Awards". Discuss each slide.
1. Go around the room and ask each student which proficiency award they might be able to earn. 2. Pass out the crossword puzzle and clues on "FFA Proficiency Award and Degrees." If time permits students could do this in class or as a homework activity. (Do you need the key?)
