• Agricultural Engineering is one area of Entrepreneurships.

• Wisconsin Fast Plants are great for research type SAE programs.
• Frank Potter's Science Gems site is a virtual warehouse of sites related to the sciences.
• Visit the Department of Agricultural and Extension Education at the University of Arkansas to pick up ideas from their Agriscience Project web site.
• Need help with the scientific process? This Penn State site has good information on how to conduct scientific investigations.
• Western Michigan University has additional information about the scientific process and reporting scientific data.
• The Florida Department of Agriculture Planet Ag is neat.

• The article entitled Cooperative Education as a School-to-Work Strategy at the National Center for Vocational Education (select item 3 from the list of publications) is a good resource. 
• The School-to-Work effort has led to increased emphasis on work-based learning (internships). You may want to learn more about School-to-Work. 
• Understanding and Applying Child Labor Laws to Today's School-to-Work Transition Programs at the National Center for Research in Vocational Education web site is a good reference. 
• The state of Nebraska has an extensive Work Based Learning Legal Issues Guide. Florida and Connecticut also have very useful sites as does the state of Washington. 
• If you want to view the document that contains the actual child-labor law language, The Fair Labor Standards Act is found at the Department of Labor web site. You will need Adobe Acrobat to view the file (this program can be downloaded for free off the internet). 

Community Development
 

• Helping people of rural America develop sustainable communities and improve their quality of life is a goal of  USDA's Rural Development.  Look at the success stories and how two Michigan teens got there start in business with the help of Rural Development. 
• Bruce A. Miller's article entitled The Role of Rural Schools is Rural Community Development gives three approaches for building a strong relationship between schools and the communities.  His vision is a partnership between rural schools, community leaders and residents leading to a positive impact on communities.
• The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation is interested in grant making for developing healthy communities.  The foundation is one of the nation's 10 largest foundations with assets of more than $4 billion.
• The International Youth Foundation brings support to local efforts that are changing young people's lives.  Their Programs that Work site offers articles giving insight to ideas on youth and community development.
• The National 4H Council is very involved in youth and community development.  Visit their Innovation Center for Community and Youth Development and see what they have to offer.  The site contains a description of current projects as well as resources and discussion groups.
• A Ohio State University Fact Sheet gives information on why citizens participate in community development and also describes ways to increase participation in such events.

• Today's Homeowner gives expert advice for home improvement broken down by different categories along with news, ordering information for publications and a daily home improvement tip.
• When looking for hundreds of how-to projects, plants for your home or garden, painting problems and a "Featured How-To" list check out what Lowes Home Improvement has to offer.
• Home Ideas is the place to go to request product literature for your home project before you make your purchases.  The request section allows you to get free catalogs and brochures sent to you by mail.
• You can find project advice, information and products to help you with remodeling, home improvement and repair at Hometime.com.  The site offers quick tips and the opportunity to access information from past episodes of Hometime TV found on TLC.
