Using SPA • EZ

R. L. McCraw

Many of you have asked for the SPA software and manuals to use in assisting producers in doing standardized production and financial analysis of their beef enterprises. The process of doing a SPA analysis is time consuming. Realizing that the time required to do the analysis limit the number of producers using it, the National Cattlemen's Beef Association, the major sponsor of SPA development, supported development of a simpler procedure. The result was SPA • EZ or Standardized Performance Analysis • EZ.

Forms required for performing the SPA • EZ analysis can be obtained by calling Extension Animal Husbandry at 919/515-2761 or 2762.

We would be interested in your comments and suggestios about the use of this revised procedure for analyzing production and financial performance of beef herds.
