Butner Bull Test Open House Set for December 28, 1996

G. M. Gregory

The Butner Bull Test Station will hold an open house on December 28, 1996. Registration will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, followed by a brief welcome and introductions. This will be followed by a description of the bull test program and procedures. A bull selection clinic will be conducted during which participants will be asked to rank a group of bulls based on various herd situations. A discussion of the bulls for each situation will follow the exercise. Following the bull selection clinic will be a tour of the physiology and nutrition research facility and various current research projects will be explained. We will finish the program with free time for producers to view the bulls to be sold on January 11 and visit with breeders, as well as, NCSU faculty.

The Butner Bull Test open house will be an excellent time for producers to view bulls to be sold at the Granville County Livestock Arena on Saturday, January 11th. Breeders will have a chance to actively market their bulls, and producers will have an opportunity to discuss beef cattle research and extension programs. We encourage all interested producers to attend.
