M. C. Claeys and S. B. Rogers

The 1996 North Carolina State 4-H Livestock Judging Contest was recently held July 22 at the James B. Hunt Complex in Raleigh, North Carolina. Seventy-five 4-H'ers representing eighteen counties competed for top honors in this years contest.

Despite the heat and humidity of the mid-July day all the 4-H'ers learned a great deal and several had the opportunity to take home many honors. Brent Jennings from Pasquotank County took top honors as high individual overall in the Senior Division, while Rose Burlingham a Pitt County 4-H'er hailed as the high individual overall in the Junior Division. In the challenging team competition, the Senior Division win went to the Pasquotank County team of Brent Jennings, Jennifer Ferrell, Jenny Scott and Tiffany Meads coached by Travis Burke.
