2009 NC AQHYA Delegation

Please join us in congratulating the North Carolina 4-H Horse Program on their exemplary showing at the 2009 American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championships in Oklahoma City, OK.  On August 3rd through 6th 2009, youth from numerous FFA, 4-H and American Quarter Horse Youth Teams across the nation competed in the Horse Public Speaking, Horse Team Demonstration, Horse Judging and Horse Bowl contests.  Please congratulate the North Carolina AQHYA Horse Bowl Team, including members Alison Thompson, Kira Pruitt, Brittany Spears and Brenna Rodriguez, on winning the AQHYA World Championship Horse Bowl Contest!  As the high point team, all team members received belt buckles and world championship jackets.  Additionally, the North Carolina AQHYA Horse Judging team had an exemplary contest, with ALL four team members represented in the top ten high individuals for the contest and the team placing first in the contest overall. Congratulations to Sara McIntosh, Ethan Hefner, Sarah Harper and Brittany Spears on their achievements!  Furthermore, Amber Nead placed second and fourth overall in the Impromptu and Prepared Public Speaking contests, respectively.  Amber is a current NCSU undergraduate.  Rounding out the NC AQHYA delegation, Brittany Spears and Kira Pruitt placed second overall in the Team Demonstration contest.  Congratulations to all of our outstanding youth!
