Group Meals:
Each year we always schedule a final group meal to celebrate the trip. It's a chance to dress up and have a fun time. Hereunder are some options to consider:
- In 2006 we went to Oxley's and the students really enjoyed it.
- In 2007 we went to Tukka
restaurant in trendy West End, across the river,
which is noted for its excellent presentation of bush tucker.
- In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 we went to The Regatta on Coronation Drive. It is close by and easy to get to, and back from, on the City Cat.
-
For 2013 I recommend we dine again at the Regatta.
Here are some other restaurants to consider:
-
Brett's
Wharf
It is well know and liked by all Brisbaneites. It's
on the Brisbane river and has a reputation
for quality meals at a price everyone can afford.
The Story Bridge Hotel is on Kangaroo Point across the river from the City Centre. - The Breakfast Creek Wharf serves excellent local seafoods. It's at the entrance of Breakfast Creek into the Brisbane river. John Oxley and his crew had breakfast there in 1824.
One thing you should know is that in Australia an entree is an appetizer and the American entree is called the main course.
