Laboratory
Research in my laboratory uses the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster as a model for studies on the genetic architecture of behavior and as a model for studies on the genetics of human diseases. We are also using the zebrafish model and conditional homologous recombinant mice to investigate the functions of olfactomedins on development of the nervous system .My laboratory is located in 3501 South Gardner Hall at the North Carolina State University campus.

Teaching
My teaching activities include Principles of Physiology for upper level undergraduates and courses in Professional Development and Behavioral Genetics at the graduate level.

W.M. Keck Center
I am the Director of the W. M. Keck Center for Behavioral Biology and author of the book “Dazzle ‘Em with Style: The Art of Oral Scientific Presentation” by Elsevier/Academic Press. A textbook on Principles of Behavioral Genetics is scheduled to be published by Elsevier/Academic Press in 2008. More Keck Center >>>
